How much does window tint cost?
Window tint at our Oakdale shop costs $450 in ceramic film or $300 in standard film for all the side windows and the rear, on most cars. Below is the full price list, what makes one tint job cost more than another, and how to decide between ceramic and standard film.

Every price is for film cut to your car on a computer, not hand-trimmed on the glass, and the job usually takes 2 to 3 hours.
Ceramic or standard film
Both films darken the glass and cut glare. The difference is heat. Ceramic film is the one to choose if the point is a cooler car in a Central Valley summer, and it is what we recommend for anyone who parks outside. Standard film is the lower-cost option when the goal is mostly privacy and looks.
The price gap on a full car is $450 against $300. Spread over the years the film stays on the car, that is the cheapest upgrade in the job.
What changes the price of a tint job
- Film type. Ceramic costs more than standard, window for window, as the table shows.
- How many windows. A full car is priced as one job. A single pair, a rear windshield or a visor strip is priced on its own.
- The windshield. A front windshield is a separate line, and California limits what can go on it; see below.
- Old tint. Film that is peeling, purple or bubbling has to come off first. Tell us when you book so we can quote it.
What California allows
California's tint law is strict on the front of the car: the front side windows can only take clear film that lets through at least 88% of light, while the rear side windows and back glass can be any shade. The windshield is limited to a strip across the top, with a medical exception for clear UV film.
