Honest pricing from a System X certified installer in Oakdale, CA - $995 to $1,750 depending on tier, no hidden fees, no upsells. Real numbers for the Stanislaus County area.

The Quick Answer

Professional ceramic coating in Oakdale, Modesto, Manteca, and the Stanislaus County area typically runs $995 to $1,750 depending on tier - that's the full price including paint correction, glass coating, wheel coating, trim coating.

Anything significantly cheaper than that is either using a consumer-grade ceramic, skipping the paint correction step, or both. Anything significantly more expensive - at our quality level - is usually a markup, not a meaningful product upgrade.

Below is our full pricing breakdown so you can see exactly what each level includes.

Pricing by Tier

  • Level 1 (3-year) - starting at $995 - Daily drivers, leased vehicles, budget-conscious owners.
  • Level 2 (6-year) - starting at $1,300 - The value sweet spot. Newer cars, owners keeping the vehicle 5+ years.
  • Level 3 (10-year and lifetime) - starting at $1,750 - High-end daily drivers, weekend cars, paint enthusiasts.

All starting prices are for standard-size sedans and small SUVs. Trucks, full-size SUVs, lifted vehicles, and unusual paint conditions may add to the final quote.

What's Included in Every Tier

Multi-Stage Paint Correction

This is the step "cheap" shops skip. Single-stage on Level 1, two-stage on Levels 2 and 3, full multi-stage on Lifetime. The correction work is where most of the visual improvement comes from - not the coating itself.

Decontamination Wash + Clay

Every install starts with an iron-remover wash and clay treatment to pull off contamination embedded in the clear coat. Your paint is cleaner after this than it was the day it left the factory.

System X Ceramic on All Surfaces

Body panels, glass, wheels, brake calipers, plastic trim - every install. We don't strip features out of lower tiers to upsell you. The difference between tiers is durability, not what gets coated.

Manufacturer-Backed Warranty

The warranty is from System X, not just our shop. 3-year, 6-year, or 10-year and lifetime depending on tier. Covers manufacturing defects and premature coating failure under normal use.

Aftercare Walkthrough

At pickup, we walk you through what to do and what to avoid for the first 7 days, the next year, and beyond. We also send the same information by email so you have a written reference.

What Makes Pricing Vary

Three things change the final number from the starting price: (1) Vehicle size - full-size trucks and SUVs add $150-$300. (2) Paint condition - a car with deep scratches or peeling clear coat needs extra correction work, which we quote separately so you see exactly what you're paying for. (3) Add-ons - engine bay ceramic, headlight restoration, leather seat coating, ceramic windshield, which we quote during consultation.

We never surprise you with charges at pickup. Every cost is on the quote before you commit.

How to Choose Your Tier

Quick framework based on how long you're keeping the car:

  • Selling or trading in 1-2 years? Level 1 ($995) - the math works.
  • Keeping 3-5 years? Level 2 ($1,300) - most popular tier, value sweet spot.
  • Keeping 5-10 years, or it's your favorite car? Level 3, the 10 year and lifetime tier, at $1,750.
  • Show car, exotic, or "I never want to deal with this again"? Lifetime, every time.

Still unsure? Send a photo of your car and how long you plan to keep it. We'll tell you which tier makes sense for your specific situation.

Wash Regularly (or Let Us Do It for You)

Even with a coating, regular washes are still necessary, ideally every 2 to 3 weeks. Use a pH-neutral car shampoo, a soft microfiber mitt, and the two-bucket method to reduce the risk of swirls. Or, if you'd rather leave it to the pros, we offer gentle, coating-safe maintenance washes that ensure the job is done right every time.

Skip the Automatic Car Washes

Brush-style car washes can scratch the coating and shorten its life. Touchless options are safer, but still not ideal. For best results, hand washing or having us handle it with pro-grade tools is the safest way to go.

Use a Ceramic Booster as Needed

A ceramic-safe booster spray can help maintain the coating's hydrophobic effect between details. We include this in our routine maintenance services to keep your coating slick, glossy, and fully protected.

Schedule Routine Maintenance Details

For those who want the absolute best long-term results, we recommend a professional maintenance detail every month or two. We'll deep clean the coated surface, safely decontaminate it, and refresh its performance without affecting the integrity of the layer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is ceramic coating so expensive?

The product is a small part of the cost. The labor - 2-4 days of multi-stage paint correction by a certified installer in a controlled environment - is most of it. That's also what separates real ceramic from $200 spray jobs.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Ask during your consultation. Several Stanislaus County customers have spread the top tier ($1,750) over 12 months to keep it manageable.

Are there any hidden fees in the starting price?

No. Starting prices are for standard sedans and small SUVs. If your specific vehicle needs more (lifted truck, severe correction needed, etc.) we tell you before you commit - never after. Every cost is on the quote before you sign.

How much extra is ceramic on a truck or SUV?

$150-$300 typically. Lifted trucks with running boards and fender flares can add more. We'll quote exact pricing after seeing photos of your specific vehicle.

What if my paint is in rough shape, do I need to pay extra?

If your vehicle has deep scratches, heavy oxidation, or severe water-spot etching, additional correction work is needed beyond the standard correction included in each tier. We quote this separately so you see exactly what you're paying for.

Is there a deposit required?

A 10% deposit holds the appointment slot on jobs over $500. Smaller jobs need no deposit. Balance due at pickup. We can also work out payment plans for combo packages (PPF + ceramic) - ask during consultation.

Why is your pricing different from "ceramic shops" charging $300-500?

Those shops are using consumer-grade product, often skipping paint correction, and working in non-controlled environments. The "ceramic" you get from them lasts 2-6 months. Real System X ceramic with multi-stage correction in a climate-controlled bay starts at $995.

Do you charge differently for different paint colors?

No - color doesn't affect price. But darker colors (black, dark blue, red) show paint defects more obviously, so they sometimes benefit from a higher correction tier. We'll discuss this during consultation.

Can you give me a quote without seeing the car?

Yes for starting prices on standard vehicles. For exact pricing, we need photos of the specific vehicle - year/make/model and a few shots of paint condition. Text photos to (209) 318-3605 or fill out the contact form for a same-day quote.
